Hit the Water<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Is there anything better than jumping into cool water on a hot day? Head over to Fairy Stone State Park<\/a><\/em><\/strong> for a \u201cbeach day\u201d along Fairy Stone Lake. Rent a canoe or paddle boat and explore the serene waters. Be sure to check the park\u2019s event calendar<\/a><\/em><\/strong> to see what\u2019s scheduled for the day. There are a variety of ranger-led activities offered each month, like fairy stone hunts, guided hikes, and canoeing. Philpott<\/a><\/em><\/strong> Lake is another great option for families. The Goosepoint Campground<\/a><\/em><\/strong> features a beachy shore and playground for kids to enjoy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Head over to Woolwine and splash in the water at the Jacks Creek Covered Bridge<\/a><\/em><\/strong>. This historic bridge is one of Patrick County\u2019s most iconic landmarks. Head over to the Crossroads Cafe<\/a><\/em><\/strong> for lunch and enjoy delicious, made-to-order sandwiches, coffees, and smoothies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Splash around in one of Patrick County’s many creeks and streams. Stroll along Stuart\u2019s Mayo River Rail Trail<\/a><\/em><\/strong> for easy access to the Mayo River. Take a drive down into Kibler Valley for amazing views and access to the Dan River.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For a fun pool day check out Stuart\u2019s Dehart Park<\/a><\/em><\/strong>. The park is only minutes away from Stuart’s Historic Main Street. Grab a lunch at Stagecoach Coffee<\/a><\/em><\/strong> or the Coffee Break<\/a><\/em><\/strong>. For dessert, pick up some sweet treats at the Harvest House Emporium<\/a><\/em><\/strong> or Olivia\u2019s Goodie Shop<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.
